M&M summit

Is it just me or is July one crazy busy month? It seems like I have been on the go more often than not. And here it is already half way through and I feel like just yesterday was the first of the month. I know they say time flies when you get older or when you're having fun but seriously the sands of time need to just slow down to a trickle instead of a flood.
I am currently relaxing in my hotel room in Springfield, Missouri. Yes I said RELAXING. HIM and HER along with our pastor and her husband are at our denominations annual meeting that we call the Mission and Ministry Summit. And every year we are always so busy going to training, visiting with old friends, being entertained and having a lot of information to chew on that we rarely get to actually relax. But this year the business meeting today went by so fast that we found ourselves with 2 1/2 hours to ourselves. Naturally I was like YES I get to go back to the room and read. And that's just what I did until I decided it would be the perfect time to blog!
So far this years summit has been very good. Our key note speaker last night and this morning was Ed Stetzer and man did he give us A LOT to think on. One of his main points was that we will not find the gift of evangelism anywhere in the Bible. Because evangelism is NOT a gift. As Christians we are all called to evangelism. Wow what a challenge! Because let's face it we are all selfish. We love to talk about evangelism a lot as long as someone else is actually doing the work. It was a challenge for me to evaluate my heart and my works. I am excited to see what the next few days bring!

Birchbox

I got my second Birchbox in the mail today! So excited to try out all my new products. And then give you all a run down on what they are like. Everything but the Ipod (of course) came in my box.

We had a special visitor yesterday. One of our nephews Colton stayed with us for a few hours while his dad was busy. It was such a fun visit. B (13) and Colton (8) decided that they were gonna wrestle and Colton so did not back down. He was so squirely and goofy acting like a tiger and a monkey. It was priceless.

4th of July weekend

I got my house back!! The reign of the guys is finally over (at least for the time being). We had a nice visit with Terry and would have loved for him to stay longer. But oh how nice it is that my living room is once again my living room and not the never ending game room. Since Terry went home on Sunday, the twins have graciously retreated to their room with only a few grumbles about the size of their t.v opposed to the one in the living room.

One good thing that came out of having my living room over taken was that I was able to start and finish Francine Rivers Redeeming Love book in just a couple of days. It was such a good book so much that I was hard pressed to put it down. I just wanted to finish it as soon as I started it but at the same time did not want it to end. I just LOVE books like that. Ones that you just have to read until they are done but then you get that empty feeling when it’s over because you are still living the story. That’s the best.

Well I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July festivities. We didn’t do much this year with the 4th falling on a Wednesday and all. We just decided to take it easy. So we rented some movies, ordered pizza and chilled out most of the day. Him and Her watched The Tourist, while the twins watched Journey 2 and we all watched Wrath of the Titans. I did get out and do some stuff outside while B and HIM had an air soft gun war. Poor T couldn’t join in since he is still on his crutches, but he did get to do some target practice so he wasn’t completely left out. And to end the nice relaxing day I was able to watch a few episodes of Pretty Little Liars while the guys played games back in their room. But I wasn’t alone for long, the twins are really into the show too and once they realized I was watching it there they were.
